Now that I’m finished with And Then There Were None graphics for the time being, I’ve been working on new stuff for the UCLA Blood & Platelet Center. I’m working on summer graphics right now, but it’s been challenging. I am really antagonistic towards trivial, cliche stuff, so it’s been difficult trying to stay away from that when designing for simple concepts like ‘summer.’ Then again, I have to remind myself that these are generally short-term publications… BUT THEN AGAIN, I can’t just throw away my standards.

Most recently I’ve been involved with UCLA HOOLIGAN Theatre in their Winter production, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, and it has been a memorable learning experience. I was a member of the Costumes Team in which I had the opportunity to (semi-)learn how to operate a sewing-machine (I’m definitely going to properly learn how to use one this summer) among various clothing-related tasks. I am now officially on HOOLIGAN Staff as a Graphic Design Associate. (Feel free to check out my creepy grin here.) I help create posters, flyers, and other graphics for the theatre company, including some components of the show programs. Be sure to check out the show’s behind the scenes videos here.

Last week I had the honor to exhibit my series “Sugarcoated” in my dean’s (School of the Arts and Architecture) annual party. I am so thankful for the number opportunities I’ve received to exhibit this series, particularly in the Design | Media Arts 2012 Undergraduate Exhibition.

Currently, besides catching up on coursework that I had regretfully neglected these past two weeks, I’m starting up my cargo site, learning CSS (among other web stuff), and hoping to collaborate with a professor from the department of urology.
